Brisbane, Queensland, Australia – 30 Oct 2026
The Queensland Emory Drug Discovery Initiative (QEDDI), a business unit of UniQuest, the commercialisation company of The University of Queensland, and o2h Discovery, an integrated drug discovery organisation operating across Cambridge, UK, and Ahmedabad, India, are celebrating 10 years of collaboration in small-molecule drug discovery.
Established by UniQuest in 2016, QEDDI translates world-class academic research into small-molecule development candidates with the potential to progress to clinical trials, bringing together industry-experienced scientists and academic researchers to address unmet medical needs.

Over the past decade, o2h Discovery has supported QEDDI’s programmes across cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. Its medicinal and synthetic chemistry teams have contributed novel heterocyclic compounds to help explore new biological targets, alongside process research and development and scale-up work to progress compounds towards larger-scale production.
As they mark this milestone, both organisations look forward to continuing their collaboration in the discovery of innovative medicines.
Brian Dymock, Head of QEDDI, said:
When QEDDI started over 10 years ago we needed strong and reliable chemistry support to advance our projects as rapidly as possible: o2h have been that partner, consistent, productive and responsive. With the support of o2h services QEDDI has discovered new medicines which are progressing towards the clinic to hopefully one day benefit patients who need them. We look forward to continuing and deepening our relationship as QEDDI transitions into the University of Queensland as a Collaborative Research Platform.
Sunil Shah, CEO of o2h Ventures and Co-CEO of o2h Discovery, added:
Brian and I started working together ten years ago, and fittingly, we met in person for the first time in Brisbane on our tenth anniversary. Great science has no boundaries. We greatly appreciate the trust Brian and the QEDDI team have shown in our capabilities over the past decade, and we look forward to continuing our work together.
About QEDDI
The Queensland Emory Drug Discovery Initiative (QEDDI) is a business unit of UniQuest, the commercialisation company of The University of Queensland. Established in 2016, QEDDI is a fully integrated small-molecule drug discovery capability focused on translating academic research into drug development candidates for clinical trials. Its programmes span cancer, inflammatory disorders, and neurodegenerative diseases, and it offers pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies opportunities to partner around novel therapeutic leads.
